Prostatic artery embolisation (PAE)

Minimally invasive procedure to treat the benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Also it can be used to treat prostatic hemorrhage. PAE is usually performed via a single common femoral artery puncture. Super-selective embolization of the prostatic arteries by embolizing agents result in ischemic necrosis of the gland followed by its shrinkage and subsequent reduction in the symptoms. It is very safe procedure with least complication as compared with surgical treatment.
